     Welcome friends!  
       
      Here is a thumbnail sketch of our family and what we're doing: 

      Marian has retired from teaching math at Wayne Valley High School in June of 1999. Ernie retired from  civil engineering in 1996 and spends lots of time on the Internet and on email with friends and correspondents. He also goes to the LDS genealogy library and has traced his roots  back to 18th Century Hungary and Austria, some as far back as the early 1600s. 
     We both like to travel and have been to Europe three times in the past 10 years, the summer of 1997 touring Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and The Czech Republic. In the summer of 1998, Ernie went to Austria and Hungary to do research on his ancestry and to attend the 50-year reunion of the expulsion of ethnic Germans from Bakonyjako, Hungary, the birthplace of his grandfather, Josef Griszbacher. (read about the trip here) We also like to go city hopping for long weekends like Boston, Montreal, Baltimore, Atlanta, Savannah, Charleston, Philadelphia. In July of 1998 Marian went to Alaska with her sister, Doris. During February of each year Ernie has skied at many resorts in Colorado Wyoming and Utah  with a group from NNJ. In March 1999, he visited a college fraternity brother in Denver and skied at Vail, Copper Mt., Keystone and Winter Park. In April we visited Atlanta and Nashville. In September of 1999, we went with friends to Yellowstone Park, The Black Hills, Mt. Rushmore, Grand Tetons & Salt Lake City. Since then we have also hiked up the Great Wall in China, petted kangaroos in Australia, tasted the crisp white wines of New Zealand, viewed aboriginal drawings on mountains near Lima, Peru, and traveled through the Panama Canal. In March of 2006, we will visit northern Mexico and the Copper Canyon.
 

Our Sons and their Families: 
  

Peter and Debi & Debi's daughter, Angela: 
Peter is a computer systems architect at RDA in the Philadelphia area. Debi is an interpreter and works for various legal organizations.

George, Mary Beth and daughters Leah, Katie and Julia:  George was manager of a programming group at Shaw Data but he left the company in October 1998 to start up his own business with partners doing on-line mortgage systems.  Mary Beth is a manager at UPS . Leah Suhn Hee, our first grandchild,  was born Christmas Eve 1997. Katie was born in 1999, and Julia was born in 2002.

Carl and Janeene and daughter Annaliese:  Carl is a metallurgist engineer with Becton-Dickenson. Janeene is a project manager with Turner Construction.  They have a daughter, Anneliese, born in 2002.

Over the past 35+ years Ernie has been researching his German-Hungarian roots and has accumulated a large library of information about the ethnic Germans of Veszprem County, Hungary. His studies are now focused on the German-Hungarian immigrants to the USA from Veszprem County.
